Just thought the idea of Mario (and co) setting off on a Pokemon adventure was kinda cool. 
So...it seems Mario decided to choose Cyndaquil, the "Fire Mouse" Pokemon. lol Time to pick up a fire flower, Mario!

I love this image, it looks almost like official Mario & Luigi artworks.
Plus Cyndaquil is one of the two starters I can perfectly picture Mario having. It also makes it actually more interesting that for once he's not given either an entire team or "the iconic" Pikachu.
